We are 5 and a half months and the days are counting down to when our little lady arrives! Mama D is doing great, I love the second trimester and feel AMAZING compared to the first. We went to our new doc in California on Friday and her heartbeat was 148 beats a minute and my blood pressure is 120/76 so completely safe. I have lost another pound, the one that I gained last visit, so a total loss of 17 pounds total and maintaining. This doesn't mean I am not eating, I am ALWAYS hungry. She is moving a ton some days and barely at all others but she seeems to be a night owl for now. After dinner, she does somersalts all in my tummy. My glucose test is in 2 weeks, and I have been doing everything I can to stay healthy so I hope it goes well. We are narrowing down a name, but none solidified just yet. Layla and Madeline/Madison are at the top of the list... Here is Mama D on Easter weekend and Daddy.
We are officially gone from the islands and Californian's!! We arrived on my birthday April 5th and it has been quite the transition. I obtained a job as a property manager at an apartment community, so my office is literally right outside our living room and so convenient. They are very family and baby friendly and I manage 2 properties of about 70 units total. We are settling in nicely. Mom and Don came to visit and bring all kinds of goodies this weekend for Easter, and Mom got to feel the baby do a little kick while her and I were cuddling on the couch. What a cool moment :) It is so nice and such a relief to be back on the mainland and closer to family....our life is moving in a whole new direction....

Week 19
Went to the doc for the another appointment today :) My blood pressure is 111/75, down over 40 points from my first month!! We are just about halfway there and can't believe it. Today I gained one pound, after losing 17 in the first four months. Doc says I will probably gain from here on out, but hopefully all belly. Here is a pic :)
She is sticking pretty high for now, her head above my belly button and I get some pretty bad headaches in the afternoons/evenings which isn't like me at all but they should subside in 3rd timester from what they say.
We think she has Mommy's legs because everything measured at 19 week normalcy, but her femur is about 19-20 weeks, so she may be thick like her mama...we know she has big feet and thick legs!
She weighs 9.9 ounces. We are sooo happy :)
Next appointment in one month, and thats when I get to drink the gallon of Orange powder to test for gestational diabletes, ugh :( Maybe I should start giving up my butterscotch sundaes...
I can't wait to hold her and kiss her!!! 19 week pic of our little ladybug....her left arm is above her head and she is just relaxing today, I only ate 3 sweet tarts so she held still for us...

It's a Girl!!!!
After our ultrasound on March 16, and about 45 minutes of trying to get our little ladybug to turn from being breech, we had success!! Chris and I are expecting a precious baby girl on August 26, 2011.
We also had our first baby-in-belly check up and everything looks absolutely normal. She is still a bit tiny to see all of her heart, so we head back in 2 weeks to do some more bloodwork for mommy and double check her 4 chambers have formed correctly. During the ultrasound she wouldn't show us her face for about half of it because of her position, and when she finally looked right at the ultrasound the doctor froze the screen, and when they went back to "live" view, all we saw was this, a baby foot right in our view! So cute...she was telling us to leave her alone and let her suck her thumb, which was what she did most of the time she was being video-taped. Here's a clip of that, too. She seems a bit camera-shy, so she definitely gets that trait from Daddy!!
This past week, I definitely felt her move in my belly. At first I thought it was gas and then realized it was her! It just felt like a tiny flutter from belly button to my lower right side, but it was definitely baby and I have had a few since. It seems to be after a sugary sweet, and I don't miss a butterscotch sundae about 3 nights a week :) I also can officially NOT sleep on my tummy anymore, which is a bummer because that means very little sleep. Mom and Meemaw said I was a stomach sleeper from when I was a baby, so this may be a tough habit to break....
No makeup on this morning, and getting ready for our garage sale so I will have Papa Bear take a belly pic when I look more decent this weekend. Until then....

Tummy Tickler: Week 13

Week:
13 weeksCravings/Aversions:
LOVES me some Butterscotch over Vanilla Ice Cream every night, green peas with lotsa pepper and tuna sandwiches with mustard (in moderation of course).
However, if you cook popcorn in the microwave or I am around raw hamburger, I will throw up all over you and Chris's beer breath is enough to send me praying to the porcelain god asap.
Roller Coaster Emotions:
Poor Chris some days I tell you....I was cleaning this past weekend and started crying for absolutely no reason. "What's wrong?" he asks. I reply "Nothing. I don't know. Everything. I'm taking a shower".
Then I passed out on the couch and slept for 2 hours and woke up happy as a clam and made dinner.
ROLLER COASTER!
Depending on the day, it could be a video on the CMT Top Country Countdown, or the fact that Ernie looks up at me with those puppy dog eyes that start the waterworks....
Weight Gain/Loss:
Down 12 pounds since we got pregnant, laying off the brews really does make a difference! Should start gaining here soon says the doc tho.
Tummy Ticklers:
An occasional flutter, light cramping the doc says it is "round ligament pain" or stretching of the uterus and common for a first baby. I pee 4 times a night at least, lots of burping and gas, and I eat prunes like an old lady to keep me regular. Too much information? :) It is feeling a little "weird" to lay flat on my tummy when sleeping, and I can't get comfy for the life of me.
Here is a pic of Daddy's hands on Mama and Baby in the shape of a heart.....nothing but love here in the Crain house <3
Our Shy Lime in the Coconut
At our visit last week, the nuchal testing went great. It looks like our little LimeinmyCoconut is progressing nicely, and everything was as normal as can be expected. I am feeling much better, still pretty tired but the naseau is dissipating and the moodiness is evening out. Here are some pics of the latest ultrasound. If you are wondering why we get so many, it is because they are monitoring my thryoid and blood pressure. Thyroid is under control for now and blood pressure is borderline, so I am in good shape so far, every day is a new adventure. The only cool part about all the doctor visits is all the cool pics we get of our little peach. No luck on finding the gender, our little Lime had legs crossed the whole time.
Shy? Must take after Papa Bear, that's not a Danielle trait :)

Mom's Visit and our New House
Time been flying here in Hawaii and lots of changes! We have moved into our new place, it is about 2 blocks from the beach, and we are saving money for our little Lime in my Coconut. This is the theme song around the house now that we are almost 12 weeks and the baby is the size of a lime this week. Now that we are 3 days away from the second trimester, we can't believe that we are having a little person join our family in 6 months! Next week we have another ultrasound already!
Here is a photo of our new kitchen and dining area...
Mom was here for 18 days to help with the move since I can't lift anything heavy, and she was a blessing. She cooked meals, we watched soap operas and hit the beach every day. Very relaxing and much needed mama and daughter time. She is officially Mimi now :) Grandma isn't allowed because she is only 42. LOL.
She will be back for my birthday, and I already miss her so much....

Belly pics - The Beginning
We went down to the beach today to take our first belly pics, to track the growth of our little blueberry. We are also keepin tabs on the men in the house, and I think Chris's belly wins this week.
Every week, getting these emails from TheBump.com telling us the size and what is developing is way too much fun! Our sweet pea has turned into a bit bigger than a blueberry this week!! Little arms have developed that look like fishy fins, and the brain and spine are well on thier way to being almost done! The first trimester is sooo important for all the growth. Mama is still pretty naseaus and tired, but hangin in there :) Grandma Jenny, aka Mimi, is coming to visit this weekend, and I can't wait to be off work for a mini-vacation and eat her homecooked meals and get foot rubs....until next week......Aloha from the Crains on Kuuhale!!!
